ZUMBA


Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movements, which create a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness system! This class format combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body in an aerobic / fitness fashion to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits. Zumba integrates some of the basic principles of aerobic, interval, and resistance training to maximize caloric output, cardiovascular benefits, and total body toning. The cardio-based dance movements are easy-to-follow steps that include body sculpting, which targets areas such as gluteals, legs, arms, core, abdominals and the most important muscle in the body, the heart.

Dancers and non-dancers alike immediately and easily master a Zumba class because you do not have to know how to dance to succeed at Zumba. Zumba creates a party-like atmosphere that provides a non-intimidating opportunity for non-dancers, new exercisers, or those who have previously hesitated to participate in group classes. At the same time, dancers and long-time exercisers thoroughly enjoy the change of pace – exercising in a healthy, fun, party-like environment. All students feel comfortable knowing that they can just go with the flow and enjoy the party! Alberto “Beto” Perez, is the creative genius behind the fitness formula that has millions of people stunned at the changes in their bodies, minds, and lifestyles. Zumba was created because of Beto’s passion for Latin music, exotic dance rhythms, and fitness. He felt that group fitness classes needed a touch of fun – with party-like, “no-thinking” elements – to make it appealing to the masses, not just for fit and coordinated participants. He wanted everyone, of all fitness levels, to be able to participate in a Zumba class. His creation, Zumba, is a one-of-a-kind combination of dance and exercise, designed to put “FUN” back into fitness!
